Nonetheless, many breeders call such animals rare and they charge huge prices for them, but you have to know that the only thing that makes blue pit bulls different from pit bulls in general is their color, so aside from this element, they are the same.

If you are very curious and you want to know if your pitbull is a blue pit bull indeed, there are some characteristics that you have to look for to find out the truth:

  • Look carefully at your pit bull’s nose. A blue pit bull has a charcoal, blue-gray nose or even a combination of these colors and few small bits of pink
  • Examine the color of your dog’s fur. If it’s a blue pit bull, its fur has to be blue-gray, charcoal gray and it can also have white patches

  • Look carefully at your dog’s eyes. If its eyes are blue, gray or light amber in combination with the blue fur and nose, it means that you are the owner of a blue pitbull; nevertheless, some blue pitbulls may have darker eyes, but generally, lighter colors are more common

Follow these instructions and you will know for sure if you are the owner of a blue pit bull. Many people don’t do that and some of them find out later that actually, their pit bull is not a blue pit bull, which is very disappointing for them.

Nevertheless, blue pit bulls are wonderful, smart, playful and loyal dogs that protect their owners if they are raised properly, despite many horrifying stories told about them.

Just Because He’s a Bully Doesn’t Mean He Isn’t a Gentleman

Dogs are man’s best friend. Regardless the breed, they are loving and caring animals. Blue pitbulls and blue nose pitbulls have become so popular recently that breeders and fanciers have coined the term blue lust to describe the public’s demand for dogs of this color. That, by itself, should give you a hint about the dynamics behind the popularity of this dog.

Source
When it comes to rare dog breeds such as these, proper training is always a must. Interbreeding of pitbulls is the main reason for developing a blue nose. Determining the origins of this breed is hard, but speculations refer to the various genetic conditions. Due to this specific gene pool, the blue nose Pitbull is prone to showing behavioural concerns that may be influenced by this condition. This dog breed is innately energetic and disruptive but it doesn’t mean that they are hard to train. As with most dogs, it is important for the owners to understand that the environment is the main reason for the dog’s behaviour.

Training is highly recommended for this breed since they have the tendency to become stubborn. For instance, the dog should react to your commands even if he is in the middle of a fight with other dogs. Keep this in mind, since blue pitbulls can sometimes overpower their owners. Life experiences will shape the behaviour and the reactions of the dog to certain situations. Here are a couple of things you should know about Pitbull temperament.

Source

1. Strong nerves. A Pitbull that shrinks when confronted with loud noises or unexpected situations is showing weak nerves. Dogs with proper temperament and training will show strong nerves in unfamiliar situations and reactions to strange sounds. While at first they are fearful, they will eventually turn to investigate the origin of the noise.

2. Friendly and outgoing. Even in the presence of strangers, a blue Pitbull must show an out-going nature and be willing to engage in fun activities. In short, they love all people. If a dog is scared of human presence, then it was clearly not raised properly or abused as a puppy.

3. Submissive, but not overly so. A blue Pitbull who was properly trained should be willing to submit to you and not be over bearing or overly shy or nervous.

4. Highly intelligent. Just like any other dog, Blue Pitbulls are very intelligent animals. Because a proper Pitbull will learn new obedience behaviours, tricks and even bad behaviours quickly without much effort.

Pitbull puppies are very adorable and lovable, and are in high demand for adoption. Blue pitbulls are best adopted in the puppy stage, so that it grows up with its owner. This only makes them more loyal and loving.

What A Blue Pitbull Owner Should Do

Filed under: Blue Pitbulls - 10 Jul 2012  | Spread the word !

Blue pitbulls are extraordinary dogs, but are you actually ready for this breed? There are a few questions you have to answer to be sure that you will be a wonderful blue pitbull owner:

1. Does your lifestyle and time fit the blue pitbull lifestyle? Perhaps you already know that these dogs have a lot of energy from head to toe, running as a champion athlete, so exercising each day is a must for a happy and healthy dog. Being dynamic is part of their lifestyle and an essential part of the personality of such dogs, so you have to play a lot with them, but if you don’t like sports, you should better find another breed.

2. Are you able to train the dog? Do you have enough time for that?

Generally, there are two methods of training. One of them is by showing your blue pitbull how to lay and sit and then quitting, while the other one means life long training, beginning when you adopt the puppy and arrives at your home. This means that you have to work with your dog approximately 10-15 minutes per day, all week, everyday, all year and every year, meaning all the time, so you have to think very well before adopting a blue pitbull. Additionally, training your dog will prevent a lot of problems from happening, so it’s a big must.

3. Do you have the necessary security?

As such dogs are able to leap even tall fences very easily, dig under them or unlock gates, you have to be sure that they won’t escape. Under these circumstances, you should have privacy fence, out door housing, supervision, so you can’t leave them alone for too long because they may be stolen, may escape or may attack.

4. Can you afford such dogs?

In case you will be the owner of such a dog, you have to think very well if you have enough money for dog food, vet bills, collars, dog houses, leashes and training. If you don’t have extra money for all these, you should wait until you will afford all these things.

5. Are you ready for the scrutiny of your neighbours and friends?
Generally, blue pitbulls are perceived as being very aggressive, so people are afraid of them. This is due to the fact that people have been misinformed and because a lot of stories run, so your neighbours will dislike your choice and some of them will even try to kill your dog, while others will make a lot of comments and you may also have conflicts with your family. A great trick is to train your dog to refuse food from strangers to be sure that it won’t be killed.

6. Do you want a blue pitbull to impress your friends, family or people in general?

In case this is the reason why you want to adopt a blue pitbull, think twice as you are doing the dog a huge injustice: you will surely neglect it and in the end, you will want to get rid of it.

To conclude, you have to think very well about a lot of things before adopting a pitbull: be sure that you have extra money, time and anything else to provide care for the dog, so be responsible.

Blue Pitbulls As Home Guardians

Filed under: Blue Pitbulls - 03 Jul 2012  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

There are many ways in which one can consider the option of having blue pitbulls in their home. One of these options is for guardian dogs. Although these pitbulls are amazing as simple pets in general, they can be trained to be the ferocious protectors of a home. The truth of the matter is that with most of the dog breeds, the way in which the puppy is raised is the one that will determine its future behavior. Therefore, if you want to have guardian pitbulls, then this is the purpose for which they should be trained from an early age, so that they can get used to the fact that this is the way in which they should behave.

The training should start from an early age. You will have to learn some tricks through which to make the dogs understand what they have to do and how they have to do it. The finality of the whole thing is to know how to enable that great sense of property protection in the dogs. If you think you cannot handle this matter, the best thing to do is to work with a professional trainer. However, even in this case, the trainer is supposed to help you train the dogs easily, otherwise the dogs will believe that the trainer is actually their master. Instating the idea of property protection in dogs is not very difficult, as they already have that instinct in connection to the area that is only for them, as they seem to believe. The more difficult part here comes from the fact that the dogs must feel a sense of protection over the entire area of the house and of the yard.

With blue pitbulls, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to home safety and protection. Many people consider all the possible variants for protecting their homes, due to the fact that they have valuable items in them or that they have young family members home alone for longer periods of time during the day. Therefore, they opt for the blue pitbulls and for all the other safety precautions they believe are necessary in the situation given. Provided that the dogs are trained from an early age and in the proper way, people can be sure of the fact that they will have the perfect guardians for their homes.
